Key Opinions

With China and the UK both committing to ambitious goals to be carbon neutral by 2060 and 2050 respectively, the hard work has now commenced to realize this ambition.


Climate change and the environment now feature centrally in the global strategies of British businesses with China and other major economies all playing a central role.


Collaboration between British companies and Chinese partners whether in industry, Government or academic institutions is a critical part of this process and we at CBBC are eager to support the growth of these partnerships.


Low Carbon Cities programme

Utilises UK-China research collaboration to help reduce carbon emissions of existing technologies. Other such ongoing cooperation between the UK and China are working on the shift to zero-emission vehicles and the production of clean energy.


Further examples include bp’s JV with Didi to establish EV charging stations in cities across China.


Rio Tinto has established a partnership with Tsinghua University to support research projects through the Tsinghua-Rio Tinto Joint Research Centre for Resources.
